Arranging Assets on the Network Tab
You can drag and drop any asset in WellSpring on the network tab. WellSpring will remember the location of any manually positioned asset. This also includes any Auto-added Assets. Any assets (wells or facilities) which are added automatically (via the WellSpring Scheduler) can be arranged manually. If the assets are subsequently deleted, and/or recreated in the scheduler, the location of the moved assets will be remembered by WellSpring.
Ctl-Z Provides a "multi-select" drag mode on the Network tab to allow you to quickly select multiple assets to move. Press and hold Ctrl-Z and drag the cursor from the top left to the bottom right of your selection range and WellSpring will select all the assets in this rectangle. Clicking and dragging will then move all of the selected assets.
Auto Arrange
WellSpring also has the ability to autoarrange the assets for either the entire network, or a portion of it.
When you press the autoarrange button, the network diagram will be "auto-arranged" to clean up the network diagram. The auto arranging is performed on the currently selected assets, and all assets below that asset in the network.
Caution: There is no undo from an auto arrange. Be sure to save your project before hitting the auto-arrange button. If you are not happy with the arrangement, you can always reload your project.
Also, it is not advisable to use auto arrange on the top level of a multi-level network as the diagram may become difficult to read. Refer to the example below. Note: Auto-added assets created by a drilling program or pad drilling program will be positioned below the facility to which they connect. It is advantageous to keep manually added assets away from this area to maximise clarity of the network diagram.
Additional arranging of the network view can also be done via the main menu:
Layout
Layout allow you to change how your flow network is shown in the network diagram.
- Reset Network View - Will restore the original automatically layout view.
- Center Current Asset - Will redraw the diagram centered on the currently selected asset.
- Zoom to Show All Assets - Will zoom out to fit everything on the diagram.
- Collapse All Wells - Will collapse all wells in the diagram leaving just the facilities (can significantly clean up a busy flow diagram)
- Expand All Assets - Will expand any assets that have been collapsed.
- Auto-Arrange all Assets - Will auto-arrange all assets.
- Auto-Arrange all Wells - Will leave the facilities in place, but will auto-arrange the wells.
- Clear Auto-Added Locations - Will delete any assets created by the scheduler. You might do this to clean-up the interface, or make the file smaller if you have a large asset count and are looking to save your project to a file.
- Synchronize All Scenarios - Will match your current view across your other scenarios.
- Synchronize Current Asset - Will mirror the view of your current asset across your other scenarios.
