Copying Assets from Other Projects

WellSpring allows you to re-use wells and other assets from other projects through a copy function.  To copy an asset from another project click "Asset - Copy Asset from another Project" from the main WellSpring menu:

Select the source project and the assets to copy:

Select the target scenario, click "Copy Selected Assets", then "Done"

When copying an asset between projects, Wellspring tries its best to reconnect the asset to the correct facilities and to re-map the correct capital classes if the model has changed.

This can also be used to copy an asset from one scenario to another in the same project.

Capital Mapping Between Models

When an asset switches from one model to another, either through the selection of a new model or copying between Projects, the capital is verified as follows:

The program tries to find a match in the new model.   It tests for a match using the following rules. If the test delivers a positive result, then that new capital name will be used.

The tests are performed in the following order:

    1) Test Name, Class, Royalty Deduction

    2) Test Name, Royalty Deduction

    3) Test Name

    4) Test Class

    5) Dump into first Capital Def (The one at the top of the list)

Copy a single Asset

To copy an asset in the existing project - highlight the asset to copy, and select "Copy Asset"  from the button shortcuts.

Tip: Copy Asset will copy the current asset.  Holding Shift while clicking on "Copy Asset" will make a copy of the asset and all of its children (upstream assets).
