Custom Reporting - building your own Reports

WellSpring has a number of intrinsic reports available for use.  If you want to change any of these reports, or create your own custom reports, you can use the Report Designer.

To access the report designer, choose "Admin - Report Designer" from the main WellSpring menu.

The report designer screen looks like this:

The simplest way to create a custom report is to first copy an existing report, then make modifications to it.  You can also take an existing report, and click on each cell to look at the definitions.

Creating a New Report

When you create a new WellSpring report, the designer screen looks like this:

Each cell in the Title, or body definition has a number of fields that can be modified.

In the example above we have clicked on the fluid label for Gas rate.  It has the following key settings:

Type: UnitLabel
Product (Not used)
Unit: GasVolume

Other values that can be set include cell borders (eg if you want to underline a column heading), font sizes, and justification (font alignment).

The above report definition, when run in WellSpring looks like this:

Note: Some of the key settings in this example report

Let's look at a report variable in more detail using Raw Gas as an example:

Label: Raw Gas - this is just a text label.  It is set up as follows:

*Note that none of the variable settings apply to text label fields.  Font size, column properties still apply.

Unit label: Gas Rate - This is the unit setting, and is independent of our variable choice, so care needs to be taken so they are aligned.

*Note that none of the variable settings apply to text label fields.  Font size, column properties still apply.

For the production, choose Property for the Type and Production.Production for the value:

Product Type: Oil

Interest Type: Not Set - This allows WellSpring to control whether it is a Gross, WI or Net variable in the report

Units: Fluid Rate
