Hydraulic flow Models

WellSpring has the capability to model both Volumetric (via production forecast declines) and hydraulic (nodal) models.  A WellSpring hydraulic model is capable of performing simple nodal analysis on a gas network.

WellSpring does not model:

WellSpring's model is however; a very quick and easy hydraulic model with economics.

You can specify which type of model when you create a new project, and you can also switch between project types by changing the model type in the project setting.  Click on "Data - Project Data" from the main menu to bring up the project settings:

Select the "Use Gas Pressure Model", and select the pipeline pressure equation to use (Waymouth or Panhandle) in the project options.  You also need to select your average gathering system temperature.

When a hydraulic project is created, the production is specified using a reservoir pressure, and deliverability for each well.  Also, there is more detail required for pipelines including the diameter, length and a friction factor.
