 Offshore Drilling & Construction

WellSpring can simplify the planning of Offshore Drilling & Construction.  This section reviews the challenges and problems associated with an offshore project, such as drilling in multiple locations.  It will show you the process of construction scheduling of dependent tasks, how to maximize utilization of semi-submersible rigs, and how to incorporate an anchor point limitation for vessels.

Creating the Network

Flow diagram - A schematic of the production network is created and the scheduler is used to manage construction timelines, capacities, capital and drilling schedules.

Using the Scheduler Tab to Build a Network

In the scheduler tab, you can create a development plan by creating a series of construction tasks and drilling tasks that are conditionally dependent on one another.

Reading the GANTT Chart in a Complex Program

Here are the scheduled tasks for the current development scenario are presented in a GANTT chart.

The GANTT schedule can present resource utilization of semi-submersible rigs, construction vessels and anchor points.

Results

Using the right-click report function in the network tab, we can see the platform's production forecast and how the capacity expansions and drilling programs influence it.

Working interest economic indicators for the production sharing contract show the viability of the development plan.
