Shared Vs Unshared Assets

Introduction

When a Scenario is copied, all of the wells and assets are shared by default.  Shared assets are noted by an S and a number.  For example, when you copy a scenario, all of the assets would be denoted by "Asset Name(S2)".  The "S2" indicates that the asset is shared between two scenarios.  A three would indicate that it is shared between three scenarios and so on.

See the example screen shot of the asset list from the Data tab below:

If this asset is edited in any of the scenarios, the changes will affect ALL of the scenarios.

Unsharing an Asset

Obviously to compare scenarios, we need to set some of the assets to be "Unshared".  To unshare and asset, or to change the sharing state of an asset:

  1. highlight the asset in any of the tabs (say the Network tab, or Data tab)
  2. Select the "Share" menu item from the main menu
  3. Choose "Unshare Asset"
  4. The "S" designation will then disappear from the asset name, and the asset can be individually edited in each asset.
