 Tables Administration

User data tables can be used in user defined calculations as "lookup" data.  Lookup data might be used for establishing operating, or capital costs.  For example, you might lookup a pipeline size based on flow rates.  The lookup table would have a column for flow rate, and a second column for pipeline size which is based on the flow rate.  User defined calculations could then subsequently use this pipeline size for further calculations such as capital.

To enter and work with table data see User Data - Tables

User data tables are two-dimensional tables where the first column will be treated as a "lookup" column: given a lookup key, the values in all columns after the first column will be retrieved based on comparing the key to the values in the first column.

User Data that is defined at the company level can be defined by selecting  Admin - User Defined Data from the main menu.  User data is specific to the current asset.

When a table's definition is specified, a user creates the columns of the table. Each column can be named and assigned units. The function editor will refer to table columns by name. The order of columns can be reworded by drag-and-dropping the rows in the definition grid.

After you have created the definitions, press "Update and Close".  The following editing dialog will appear:

As seen above, clicking "Add new Table column" adds a new column to the table definition, but actually adds a new row to the grid shown in the user data definition editor.

During data entry, the user can add as many rows to the table as necessary via the "Add new row" link (See below).

Shortcuts for editing this screen include: Right-click to paste, and Ctrl-D for duplicate-down, Function entry via typing a "=" as the first character.

The URL labled "Edit table definition" link seen above is for user data defined at the asset level.
